Playing the Pregnancy Card

Hey Friends.  It turns out that it’s hard to work on a weekly blog series when you’re struggling with nausea, food aversions, that silly old thing called gravity, and a couple of wild young children that don’t understand the concept of “mom doesn’t feel so great”.  I now owe the world wide web six posts of patterns, and I hope to get them up here soon.

H-G Hope Baby at 15 weeks

Until then, I will use the ever worthy excuse and play the Pregnancy Card.  As I write this, I’m a little over seventeen weeks along with our little H-G Hope Baby, and I’m feeling….  tolerable.  I keep having twinges of guilt when people ask me how I’ve been doing, because I’m not answering, “I’M SO GREAT!”  Since I’m well past first trimester and almost to the half-way point I should be feeling better and joyful and full of energy.  But the truth is?  I’m not.  I’ve overcome a lot of the emotional struggle of getting pregnant after our loss (although there will always be residual fear and anxiety and sadness), and the physical symptoms still add up to something with which I continue to struggle.

In other news that has kept me from my bloggerly duties, we’ve had some big events come up for the H-G Family!  Here is just a sampling of photos to catch you up:

Brad-Triathlon

Brad competed and placed 4th in his age group for his first ever triathlon.

We had a grand ol' time with family reunioning on our home turf.

Eloise turned two

Eloise turned two and we celebrated her big day as a family.

Brad celebrated a milestone birthday, and the next morning placed 5th in his first ever bike race - nearly 60 miles!

Quincy started

Quincy started school for the first time and he’s loving it.

So for those of you who have been anxious about seeing some new crochet patterns to try, I will be continuing my Summer of Patterns Series by over-posting in the next while to catch up the weeks I’ve missed.

Still hopeful in pregnancy and starting to feel better-ish kind 0f,

~M
